Encumbrance Certificate (EC)
An Encumbrance Certificate is used to refer as EC in short form. It is a record showing registered transactions pertaining to a property. It plays an immense significance in property transactions. EC is the most commonly used in the context of real estate. To check your Encumbrance Certificate and EC view online in Tamil Nadu, follow these steps:
1. Go to tnreginet.gov.in
2. If needed, switch to English by clicking the option in the top-right corner.
3. Hover over “E-Services” in the top menu.
4. To see an encumbrance certificate, go to “Encumbrance Certificate” then click “View EC”. This lets property owners can EC View Online in Tamilnadu and download their certificates anytime.
5. Choose “EC” to access your certificate.
6. Pick your Zone, District, and Sub-Registrar Office from the drop-down menu.
7. Enter the EC start and end dates.
8. Choose your village (Area) and enter the Subdivision Number and Survey Number.
9. Click “Add” and enter the security code shown.
10. Click “Search” and wait for the results.
11. Your Encumbrance Certificate will appear on the screen.
12. Select it and save it to your computer for later use.
